Account & Finance Specialist (Startup Bookkeeping, Taxes and Legal)

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Account & Finance Specialist to manage bookkeeping, payroll, tax, legal compliance, and banking-related financial operations for our growing IT startup and its multiple brands. The role involves handling petty accounting tasks, expenses, incoming payouts, online bills, medical pool, petty cash, employee salaries, salary taxes, bank reconciliations, and yearly taxation, all using an accounting software like Odoo.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in startup environments, strong organizational skills, and a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and record petty accounting tasks and daily financial transactions across multiple brands.
  • Track, process, and reconcile incoming payouts and payments, ensuring accuracy and timely recording.
  • Oversee banking-related tasks including processing bank deposits, bank account reconciliations, and managing online banking transactions.
  • Track, pay, and reconcile expenses and online bills efficiently.
  • Administer the company’s medical pool and manage petty cash.
  • Process employee salaries, calculate salary taxes, and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain payroll records, manage leave and entitlements, and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Prepare and file all yearly tax requirements, ensuring compliance with Pakistani tax regulations.
  • Use an accounting software like Odoo for bookkeeping, payroll, banking, and financial reporting tasks.
  • Generate monthly and annual financial statements for management review.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors as needed for year-end processes.

Requirement

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll administration, and bank reconciliation in startups.
  • Proficient in accounting and payroll software, with experience or willingness to work with Odoo.
  • Strong understanding of petty cash management, payroll tax compliance, banking transactions, and reconciliation processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related fields preferred.
