Job Description

The Government of the Punjab, Directorate General of Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education, is inviting online applications from eligible candidates for registration as Potential Teachers under the Project titled “Establishment of Adult Literacy Centers in Punjab”. These centers are part of the government’s Read, Write, Thrive initiative, operating across 36 districts of Punjab.

The program aims to recruit motivated individuals passionate about adult education and literacy promotion. Teachers will contribute to literacy projects across multiple sectors such as General, Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Prison, Mines, and Minerals.

Position:

  • Potential Teacher – Adult Literacy Centers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach adults basic literacy and numeracy skills following approved materials.
  • Assist in setting up Adult Literacy Centers in coordination with Literacy Mobilizers.
  • Maintain records and monitor the learning progress of assigned learners.
  • Encourage community participation to promote literacy initiatives.

The role is ideal for education enthusiasts who want to contribute toward building an educated society through skill-based literacy training.

Requirement

  • Age: 18 to 55 years
  • Gender: Male / Female / Transgender
  • Qualification: Minimum Matriculation (at least 50% marks). FA or Graduate with Computer Science preferred.
  • Domicile: Punjab
  • CNIC: Compulsory
  • Remuneration: As per approved PC-I

Terms & Conditions:

  • Appointment will be on part-time, time-bound, or contract basis for six (6) months.
  • The teacher must arrange a suitable venue for literacy sessions in coordination with the Literacy Mobilizer.
  • Selected teachers must register a group of 25–30 learners aged 16+ on the NFE-MIS portal.
  • No TA/DA will be provided for test/interview.
