Body Shop Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Body Shop Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in vehicle body repair and refinishing, with strong knowledge of repair techniques, painting processes, and the use of industry-standard tools and equipment. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and restoring vehicles to a high standard of quality and safety. The Body Shop Technician will work across our Preston (PR3 3ZA) and Barnoldswick locations, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in line with company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out vehicle body repairs including panel beating, dent removal, and replacement of damaged components.
  • Prepare and refinish vehicles using industry-standard painting techniques, ensuring a flawless finish.
  • Operate and maintain spray guns, sanders, welders, and other workshop equipment effectively.
  • Perform accurate colour matching, mixing, and application of paint.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repair jobs.
  • Inspect and quality-check all repairs before handover to customers or fleet use.
  • Document all work completed and report any concerns to management.

Requirement

  • Proven experience as a Body Shop / Vehicle Technician in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of body repair, refinishing, and paint application techniques.
  • Proficiency in using workshop tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to carry out accurate colour matching and achieve high-quality paint finishes.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive attitude towards health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
