What is Expert Legal Affairs?

Expert Legal Affairs provides dedicated legal support to JazzCash and support functions as part of the Legal Affairs department. This entails consultation, advice, contract review, and negotiation in line with the organization's internal values, policies, procedures, and applicable law.

The role covers both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives related to JazzCash, requiring collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

What does an Expert Legal Affairs do?

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently draft and review contracts, negotiate with counterparties, and secure mutual agreements.
  • Provide legal advice to all levels of business on new and existing arrangements.
  • Advise on legal aspects of strategic initiatives, investments, and new business lines.
  • Assist in process improvement for risk areas like AML, CTF, data protection, sanctions, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption.
  • Train business personnel on contract management, legal developments, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify legal risks in new products, models, and partnerships, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Assist the company secretary with board-related matters.
  • Conduct legal research on fintech regulations and commercial issues.
  • Monitor legal/regulatory changes and prepare internal briefs or action plans.

Requirement

  • Bar at Law, LLM, or LLB degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an in-house legal team or law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of contract, corporate, litigation, and intellectual property law (telecom law is a plus).
  • Exceptional writing, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and legal research capabilities.
  • Experience in stakeholder management.
