Provincial Planning Service Officers are responsible for economic planning, development project management, policy formulation, statistical analysis, and implementation of government development programs across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Educational Qualification Requirements

Minimum Educational Qualification:

At least Second Division, sixteen (16) years education from a recognized University or equivalent qualification in any of the following fields:

Selection Process

Competitive Examination

There shall be a Competitive Examination for the posts of Provincial Planning Services Officers (BPS-17) as per prescribed syllabus.

Examination Pattern:

The examination consists of 5 Compulsory Papers:

  1. English (Precis and Composition) - 100 Marks
  2. English Essay - 100 Marks
  3. General Knowledge - 100 Marks
  4. Islamiat/Pakistan Studies - 100 Marks
  5. Economics - 100 Marks

Total Written Examination: 500 Marks

Viva Voce (Interview): Additional marks

Passing Criteria:

  • Individual Paper: Minimum 40% marks in each paper
  • Overall: Minimum 50% aggregate marks
  • Interview: Minimum 30% marks in viva voce
