Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Institute of Trauma (SMBBIT) Karachi is seeking qualified professionals for multiple positions on a contract basis. The institute provides specialized trauma care and aims to strengthen its team with skilled medical and administrative staff.

Positions include consultants, resident medical officers, surgeons, anesthetists, academic staff, and technical support roles. Selected candidates will work in a fast-paced hospital environment where teamwork and precision are essential to patient care and institutional growth.

• Provide high-quality medical and surgical care in assigned departments.
• Assist in trauma management, surgery, anesthesia, and emergency operations.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and PMDC or PNC regulations.
• Maintain accurate medical records and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support clinical training, research, and academic initiatives.
• Operate and maintain biomedical equipment where applicable.
• Promote patient safety, infection control, and effective communication among staff.

Applicants must meet the qualification, experience, and age criteria listed for each position. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant post-qualification experience and registration with recognized medical authorities.

Medical and Surgical Positions

• Consultant Vascular Surgery / Thoracic Surgery: FCPS or FRCS with valid PMDC registration. Experience in reputable hospitals preferred. Maximum age: 45 years.
• Junior Consultant Plastic Surgery: FCPS with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience and valid PMDC registration.
• Emergency Physician: FCPS in Emergency Medicine or equivalent qualification with PMDC registration.
• Specialist Anesthetist: MCPS/DA with valid PMDC registration and hospital experience.
• Fellow General Surgery: FCPS/MS/MD in General Surgery with valid PMDC registration.

Resident Medical Officers

• Resident Medical Officer (ICU/Anaesthesia): MBBS with house job and FCPS/MCPS/DA training in Anesthesia. Age limit: 45 years.
• Resident Medical Officer (Thoracic / Orthopaedic Surgery): MBBS with house job and FCPS training in respective fields. Age limit: 35 years.
• Medical Officer (Thoracic Surgery): MBBS with house job or 0–1 year of General or Thoracic Surgery experience. Age limit: 35 years.

Administrative and Technical Roles

• Academic & Training Officer: MBA in Health Management or HR with 2 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s with 3 years of academic administration experience. Age limit: 45 years.
• Graphic Designer: Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in Adobe Creative Suite. Certification in a relevant field preferred. Age limit: 35 years.
• Assistant Manager Fire and Safety: Master’s degree with 3 years of hospital experience in Fire & Safety. Knowledge of HSE standards required. Age limit: 45 years.
• Junior Biomedical Engineer: BE/BS in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized university. Experience in medical equipment maintenance preferred. Age limit: 35 years.

Nursing Positions

• Staff Nurse Infection Control: BSc in Nursing with valid PNC registration and at least 2 years of hospital experience. Age limit: 35 years.
• Staff Nurse: Registered Nurse with a Diploma in Nursing and valid PNC registration. Age limit: 35 years.
