Environmental Engineer

Job Description

Responsible for designing, planning, and performing engineering duties related to environmental compliance. Work includes waste treatment, site remediation, pollution control technologies, landfill management, SPCC, and project reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with staff, management, and legal counsel to address compliance opportunities.
  • Assist in budget implementation, forecasts, and administration.
  • Maintain and revise environmental documents, permits, and procedures.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assess site data, resolve regulatory non-compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead projects in air quality, water quality, waste management, and spill control.
  • Provide technical support for projects, analysis, and litigation.
  • Conduct inspections, quality checks, and data analysis.
  • Serve as liaison with agencies on regulations and spill cleanups.
  • Develop and deliver environmental compliance training.
  • Research new regulations and evaluate potential impacts.
  • Manage environmental programs and evaluate effectiveness.

Requirement

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

Experience

  • Level I: No experience required.
  • Level II: Minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Level III: Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Senior: Minimum 7 years of experience. PE License in Kentucky preferred.
