About the Role

We are searching for a Senior Engineer, Data Platforms to join our Digital & Technology department in our Melbourne office on a 9-month fixed term contract.

We’re looking for someone to lead our data engineering initiatives and collaborate across business units to deliver robust, scalable solutions. You’ll help shape the future of our data platforms by focusing on building, integrating and optimising our data architecture to support strategic decision-making across our Marketing, Community Cricket and High-Performance teams.

You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing data pipelines using modern technologies like Microsoft Fabric, DBT, and Azure Cloud; championing data literacy and governance; and supporting analysts and data scientists with high-quality, timely data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Deliver Scalable Data Solutions: Lead the development and implementation of integrated data platforms using modern technologies (Microsoft Fabric, DBT, Azure Cloud).
  • Champion Data Governance and Literacy: Promote strong governance practices and drive data literacy across the organisation.
  • Manage and Optimise Data Infrastructure: Monitor and enhance data warehouse and analytical tools for secure, accurate decision-making.
  • Provide Technical Leadership and Support: Act as a subject matter expert and collaborate with teams and vendors.
  • Drive Innovation and Engagement: Advocate for new technologies and actively manage stakeholder relationships.

Requirement

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Data Technologies – SQL, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory
  • Proficiency with Python and DBT
  • Experience completing and managing multiple projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to write scalable, efficient code to solve complex problems
  • Adaptability to fast-paced, changing environments
  • Practical yet creative thinker – willing to challenge the status quo
