Sponsorship and Hospitality Manager

Job Description

Responsible for maximising the Organisation’s commercial revenue, including but not limited to, sponsorship and matchday hospitality; by identifying new and developing existing relationships with Sussex Cricket’s partners and key stakeholders.

Ensure the commercial portfolio is proactively managed, through contract servicing and relationship management; whilst ensuring a progressive, data-driven, and outcome-led approach.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Sales

  • Design and implement a strategy for identifying, prospecting and engaging with potential new clients
  • Identify and develop new sponsorship opportunities, including traditional and digital
  • Ensure sponsorship and hospitality bookings are profitable, and where appropriate deliver year-on-year growth
  • Contact and visit potential clients to prospect for new business and grow commercial revenue
  • Represent the Organisation at corporate and networking events to proactively seek new business
  • Negotiate and agree terms of business with new clients
  • Ensure a data-driven and outcome-led approach is adopted across the sponsorship and hospitality portfolio
  • Accurately record client details within the CRM system, growing the corporate network
  • Responsible for the organisation, management, delivery and ultimately growth of our premium networking group, The Boundary Club
  • Proactively sell matchday hospitality packages, focussing on both client retention & acquisition
  • Ensure that the administration of matchday hospitality is undertaken accurately
  • Proactively deal with inbound sponsorship and matchday hospitality enquiries by providing clients with timely and accurate quotations
  • Ensure all matchday hospitality products and purchases are connected to the ticketing platform
  • Proactively contact existing customers to encourage repeat bookings for matchday hospitality
  • Liaise with the Commercial Support and Ticketing Manager to ensure all sponsor and hospitality clients receive their tickets and memberships
  • Identify networking opportunities to attend to help grow revenues across the Sussex Cricket portfolio
  • Ensure each commercial contract is serviced effectively by coordinating required activities across the Organisation and within the Commercial team
  • Liaise with Commercial colleagues and external marketing partners to ensure sponsorship and hospitality products are marketed effectively

Relationship Management

  • Engage with sponsors and hospitality guests during match days to ensure their customer experience is maximised
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of each client’s business, whilst identifying future opportunities to expand their relationship with Sussex Cricket
  • Seek feedback and data-driven insight into the effectiveness of their relationship with Sussex Cricket
  • Maintain and develop positive relationships with existing clients
  • Deliver an end of year impact report for each major sponsor and any other documentation as requested by the Director of Growth

Miscellaneous

  • Other reasonable and related duties as requested by either the Director of Growth or the Chief Executive
